Westfields are penalty kings in Vase victory

Westfields win 5-4 on penalties.

WESTFIELDS produced five penalty kings as they earned an FA Vase 3rd round tie at Aspire Midland Alliance rivals Stratford Town on December 6.

Following their extra-time draw at Shawbury on Saturday, the sides could still not be separated in 120 minutes of football at allpay.park.

But Fields’ spot-kick stars Jamie Edwards, Mark Davis, Daniel Moon, Jamie Upcott and Sam Harrison ensured that the Hereford side would progress by converting their penalties.

And goalkeeper Rory Hollingshead played an equally significant part by saving the second Shawbury penalty.

Shawbury had earlier taken a third-minute lead through Simeon Lee before Moon levelled from the spot following a foul on Dan Hill.

A brave header from Hill put Westfields in front for the first time but Lee forced extra-time by rifling in an equaliser.

Stratford knocked Westfields out of the FA Cup with a 4-2 success at allpay.park earlier this season and also won the first league clash between the sides, 3-1 at Stratford.
