HALLOWE’EN MAYHEM – Tiblands Nursery School ended half term activity week by celebrating with a Hallowe’en party. Thanks to the staff, especially Donna, Sarah and Kelly who put in so much effort to make it a success. The Christmas party is on Monday, December 22, from 11am to 1pm.

PRESENTATION – On Thursday, November 20, at Wigmore Village Hall Mr and Mrs Ian Templeton will be giving a presentation to Wigmore Gardening Club and guests entitled ‘Pictures in Harmony’. Doors open at 7.15pm. Donations requested for the County Air Ambulance.

BMX PROJECT JUMBLE SALE – The BMX track project is holding a jumble sale in aid of the project on Sunday, November 23, from 1pm onwards, in Weobley Primary School. Items and donations are needed for this event and collections can be arranged if you call Ann before Saturday, November 22, on 318627.

CHURCH – During October, parishioners in Wellington enjoyed three sociable fundraising events for Wellington Church Tower renovation fund, starting with a Harvest lunch that raised £383. Many diners took up the talent challenge to raise as much money as possible with a £5 start (all profits and the initial loan must be returned by March 2009!). Funds raised through a coffee morning hosted by Maureen and Derek Robertshaw amounted to £305. The month ended with a glorious concert from the Hereford Rail Mail Choir resulting in a further £394.

KNITTING AND TEXTILES-Weobley Craft Group will be presenting a Knitting and Craft Show at the Library in Leominster on November 11th – 22nd. Members will be on hand to advise, guide and help with your knitting and crochet projects. There will also be beautiful hand made and crafted garments, yarns and accessories for sale. Tuesday-Friday 9-5.30, Wednesday & Thursday 9-7.30 and Saturdays between 9.30-4pm.

FERRETT OLYMPICS - A score of frisky ferrets took part in the annual ferret olympics at the Cross Keys public house in Withington, and some even found new homes. Eleanor and Harrison Chaplain came to watch the games and ended up with a new pet they named Minstrel. The event was co-organised by Mark Phillips and Robert Taylor and the profits went to the County Air Ambulance. We are all looking forward to next year's event.

FERRET SHOW AND RACING – On Sunday at noon, The Cross Keys Annual Ferret Show and racing event will take place. Featuring ferret Olympics; fastest ferret in the west; ferret racing and a ferret show. There will be a barbecue and raffle with all proceeds going towards the County Air Ambulance. So come along to The Cross Keys, and have a fun day out. For further details call 01432 820616.
