CHURCH EVENTS – On Sunday there will be an ArrowVale Group Songs of Praise service at 11am at St Michael & All Angels.

POST OFFICE – An announcement is expected on August 27, which will list the Herefordshire post offices that are designated for closure. Based on the criteria already published it is likely that the Lyonshall post office may be under threat, and full details of a growing campaign to save it can be found on lyonshall.net.

RAINFALL RECORDS – July saw almost five inches of rain fall in Lyonsall which is well above average for the month. Monthly records of rainfall are published on lyonshall.net in graphical format covering the last six years.

NIGHT OF THE STARS – It was a night out for staff at Lynhales Nursing Home when they took part in A Night of the Stars. But they didn’t have far to go – they staged it at the Lyonshall Nursing Home so all the residents could enjoy it too. The music was courtesy of Music in Hospitals and staff dressed up as famous stars like Cruella De Ville, the Blues Brothers and the cast from the Wizard of Oz.

It was a great evening in the country, completed with a buffet and raffle.
