Knighton Primary School has held its own farmers’ market. Local stallholders were invited to the event which took place at the end of the school day giving parents the chance to buy a selection of home/school made cakes, fresh vegetables, and lots of other things.

The farmers’ market held in the school hall was done as part of 5/6 T’s learning experiences in maths, science, geography and DT. Pupils from the school made a selection of healthy cakes and other treats and produced recipes for everything they made. Their stall was completely sold out by the end of the market and other traders at the event reported good sales. The market raised £159.74 which will go towards cookery activities and equipment within the school.
