New in Hereford: Gipsy Fantasy Belly Dance Classes

Ladies, no previous experience required. Women, all shapes and sizes, over the age of 16, are welcome to get in shape and learn a mix of dance movements, incorporating Turkish Folk, Eastern European Folk, Tribal-style Belly Dance and Flamingo styles. BIRTHDAY – The congregation of St Mary’s Church recently enjoyed birthday cake instead of the usual biscuits with their after-service refreshments. To mark her 94th birthday Mrs Audrey Abbott brought along a birthday cake so that everyone could share in the celebration.

The Hereford Chamber Choir, under its new Musical Director Michael Miller, extended its early winter programme in a celebration of The Feast of All Saints at Gloucester Cathedral last Saturday with a Pilgrimage Eucharist with Baptism and Confirmation.

ARCHENFIELD ARTS – This will take place on Saturday at Garway Church. Come along and hear local children and adults performing all day. It is an informal day of music-making and poems for young and old. Everyone is welcome. Drop in at any time and enjoy the fun, the food and the flowers. We start at 10.30am with a celebratory peal of bells. Visit the village hall to see the art exhibition which is open all day. Do come along and support the local talent and make this first ever Archenfield Arts a big success.

CONCERT – A concert in the Great Hall of the Bishop’s Palace in Hereford on Saturday will feature Ann Gall, a mezzo-soprano who sang for many years with the English National Opera. She has also appeared with the New Sadlers Wells Opera and Kent Opera. Born in Lancashire where she is now based, Ann graduated in fine art at Birmingham College of Art and taught art before becoming a professional singer.
