Success for leading nine

HEREFORDSHIRE Riding for the Disabled Association ended the academic year on a high after nine riders qualified for the RDA National Championships at Hartpury College.

Old Court Barn’’s team of Lionel Sant, Andy Beech, Paul Nelson and Robert Williams won an outright arts and crafts competition.

Daniel Bailey, who rode Herefordshire Freemasons Gypsy, finished second in dressage section, just one point behind the winner.

A total of 141 people, many of whom received awards, attended the association’s end-of-term annual meeting and prize giving event at the Holme Lacy Campus of Herefordshire College of Technology.

National Championships results: Junior Test 13, Daniel Bailey (Gypsy) 2nd; Championship Countryside Challenge, Junior Leader and Sidewalker, Amy Peters (Splash) 3rd, Morgan Haines (Aniece) 5th; Junior Independent, Vicky Guilding (Splash) 5th; Senior Independent, Gavin Crow (Gypsy) 5th; Fun Dressage, Junior Independent, Vicky Guilding (Splash) 4th; Combined training, Vicky Guilding 2nd, Amy Peters 5th, Morgan Haines 6th; Arts and craft competition, Old Court Barn 1st.
