Spring has finally arrived, and with it the first cuckoo in Herefordshire.

Bird Patrol, the Hereford Times’ site dedicated to monitoring the arrival of summer migrant birds, has received numerous ‘cuckoo’ calls this week. In addition, the Weir Gardens at Swainshill, has also reported seeing their first swift of the season.

Elsewhere, readers from throughout Herefordshire and the borders have reported many of our summer visitors.

Bird Patrol welcomes readers’ messages and reports of swallows, house martins, swifts and other birds.
