HEREFORDSHIRE Council’s chairman, Councillor John Stone, and vice-chairman, Councillor Beris Williams, have officially opened Travelodge’s second hotel in the county in the last two years.
The 38-room hotel – the Hereford Grafton Travelodge at Ross Road –is a £1.3 million investment and has created 10 new jobs.
Sian Matthews, the hotel’s manager has worked for Travelodge since 1998. Sian began as a guest room cleaner at Monmouth Travelodge and has now reached her 10th anniversary with the company. As a gift, Sian has been handed the keys to the new hotel.
Sian said: “There is a desperate need for low-cost accommodation in Hereford and our new hotel will help to meet this demand. We sell rooms from as little as £29 per night, which is great value whether you are staying on business or on a leisure break.”
Councillor Stone said: “Tourism and business are vitally important to our local economy and so I’m delighted that Travelodge are opening their second hotel within Herefordshire in two years.”
