Zinco UK Limited, the advanced technical service company based at Westfields Trading Estate, Hereford, has completed a major capital investment programme and taken delivery of two transportable furnaces.

The new furnaces provide the Zinco Network with a capacity to store up to 440 tonnes of molten zinc and are used in complex kettle changes for hot dip galvanizers.

The use of such vessels reduces the production downtime by 50% and for larger installation the vessels can be used with 100 zinc moulds, which the company has also purchased.

The new equipment has already been used in central Italy during July and August for Avedi Tubi and Zincaturificio Cesenate, transferring and storing a total of 775 tonnes of zinc.

David Watkins, managing director, said: “This investment of £180,000 in new equipment compliments the specialist non invasive testing that we also undertake for our customers.”

He added: “We have recently worked for a galvanizing company in Riga, Latvia, which is some 2,400 kms away. Our equipment and engineers travelled to the customer with the contract completed on time.”
