Ann Price from Kington is now the proud mum of two beautiful daughters and says the reality has still not sunk in that at last she has the baby that she's wanted for so many years. After difficulties conceiving, Ann was told that her chances of fertility treatment would increase if she was as healthy as possible and weighed the same as she did when her eldest daughter Beth was conceived.

"Ages ago I'd had some success following the Slimming World plan just by reading the magazines, so was pleased to hear there was a new group starting in Kington. I joined on the opening night in October and I've never looked back!

I was a bit nervous at first, but it turned out to be good fun and everyone was really supportive towards each other, I guess because we were all there for the same reason. Sticking to the eating plan was easy because it is really flexible and it's just about eating normal foods. I find stir-frys one of the quickest meals and roast dinners are also a family favourite. In just a couple of months I'd lost a stone and was very proud to be voted Miss Slinky by my fellow members - they were amazed at how much my shape had changed in such a short amount of time and I was feeling great in my new size 12 outfit . . . then just as I thought things couldn't get any better I fell pregnant! Without any treatment at all, my dream had come true - everyone was over the moon for us!"

Due to being at high-risk of developing diabetes during her pregnancy, Ann was warned she needed to eat very healthily to avoid causing complications for the baby.

"My midwife was amazed at how I was managing to keep my blood sugar levels so stable - I told her it was easy because I was eating my favourite Slimming World meals which included lots of lean meats, fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as making healthy choices like wholemeal bread, pasta and rice. I made sure I never felt deprived though and still enjoyed some chocolate or a few biscuits when I felt like it.

It's amazing to think that this beautiful bundle is really mine - she was born a healthy 7lbs 12oz and is like a little miracle come true for me and to think that I'm even lighter now than I was before makes me feel even more fantastic!"
