THE pipes of peace could sound at Hereford Cathedral this weekend during a one-off Christmas concert.
Peter Dyke, assistant organist, will play a selection of Christmas and Advent music this Saturday (Dec 6) from 1.15pm.
It’s the last time the 4,000-pipe Willis Organ will be played during lunchtime in 2008, and admission to the 45-minute event is free.
Mr Dyke - whose performance will be projected onto a big screen - said the music would be invigorating and exciting.
“I think this special concert will help people get into the Christmas spirit as well as blowing some of the dust out of the pipework," he said.
A collection for cathedral fundraisers, the Hereford Cathedral Perpetual Trust, will also take place during the performance.
