LEOMINSTER Junior School has been evacuated following a gas leak near its front gate.
National Grid engineers are currently fixing a cracked mains beneath George Street.
Staff and pupils were moved away from the school when the leak was reported around 9am this morning (Tuesday).
National Grid press office, Jane Taylor, said the work involved routine repairs, and did not pose a threat to the community.
Nearby residents have not been evacuated, while the school remained closed at 11am.
