An annual event in Leominster is hoping to beat the credit crunch blues to be as as successful as previous years.

Leominster Victorian Christmas Market will be held on Saturday, December 13, in both Broad Street and Corn Square.

Town council clerk Christina Bromage, speaking on behalf of Leominster Attractions Group, which organises the event, said: "We hope we can make it a good year for Christmas trade, despite the poor economic climate, and have organised another Park and Ride Service for that day from Brightwells Car Park in to town, allowing even more shoppers to enjoy our stalls, shops and cafés.

"We are hoping, too, that all our traders will enter into the spirit of the day by decorating their shops and office windows and by wearing Victorian costume."

Applications for stalls can be made to Benita Eggleton on 01568 708782.
