A FAMILY of a former First World War hero from Hereford are appealing for information readers may have about him because it is believed that his grave is unmarked.
Sergeant Alfred John Mole, from Pleasant Place, Clehonger, died on September 13, 1933 at Hereford General Hospital and his funeral took place in Clehonger with the Rev T R Rees officiating.
The bearers were W Green, C Jones, W Tyler and L Greaves.
Sgt Mole joined the 3rd Monmouthshire Regiment on May 12 1908 and he embarked for France on February 13 1915.
He was wounded at the Battle of Ypres and was awarded the 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal.
