RACECOURSE visitors have remembered the past on a day the Grand National took place.
Hundreds of families descended on Hereford Racecourse yesterday (Saturday) for a family and local history fair.
Genealogy is one of the country's most popular pastimes, but it can be a minefield.
But with more than 70 stalls attending, co-ordinator, Phil Bufton, said yesterday's fair was an ideal place to start researching.
"Sometimes people haven't got an idea how they get started, but lots of societies will be able to get them ideas," he said.
History groups from Bromyard, Leintwardine and Hereford were among them, while some travelled from Chester and Bristol.
The fair is part of a circuit, and returns to the racecourse in two months.
