THE owners of a Leominster shop are counting on readers to uncover its past.

Barber & Manuel, the delicatessen and grocery store, is being refurbished for the 21st century.

A coffee shop and upstairs lunchtime restaurant are planned at the Victoria Street business, which opened in 1947.

But owner Ian Doody is keen to remember the past and is hunting for photographs and stories to include in the refit. "This building has an importance in the town, and we are keen to find out more about its glorious past," he said.

If anyone can help, contact Mr Doody on 01568 613381.
